Hi, thanks in advance for any help. I am quite frustrated with the issue and I have large amount of work to do (this file and another 9 similar files) to reach a looming deadline - and obviously can't complete with this error.
I have attached some screenshots with notes, but it seems that Storyline is creating an extra jump on some slides that is not seen in the trigger pane but can be seen in the Storyboard view. The slide being displayed is incorrect. I cannot see how to delete this extra jump. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Storyline, remove the triggers and recreated but I still have the problem. It is happening on a number of slides in this project.
Hi Stefan, thanks for your reply. In desperation, I reconstructed 5 scenarios in this project and the error did not happen again. I deleted the original scenarios so I cannot check the feedback master but I appreciate having another trick up my sleeve in case it happens again. In hindsight, Storyline kept crashing the day before this happened so perhaps it caused the problem. Fingers crossed it won't happen again.
Hi again, Storyline has crashed again and I have another situation with a mysterious trigger. It is not on any of the master slides including the feedback master. I have removed the information images etc from this module and am attaching it to this post.
The issue happens on slide 1.5 - survey question (accessed via the Marked complete button on slide 1.2 Instructions (Cont) . The submit button indicates jump to slide 1.1 Instructions but it actually displays slides 1.6 Third time.
The story view shows two triggers from slide 1.5:
to slide1.1 which is correct and the trigger can be selected.
to slide 1.6 which is incorrect and the trigger cannot be selected.
There are no triggers on the feedback master for the survey slide.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I also need to know why this is happening, and if it relates to Storyline shutting down, then why that is happening too.
As you have no feedback enabled the default action on a submit trigger is to then jump to the next slide which happens before the trigger you have added so that trigger never fires, I think you need to have feedback and then branch on the start of that layer
Thanks Phil. I didn't know that but it makes sense and good to have a way to stop it happening. It's interesting, I have 6 other scenes with the same set up. The problem wasn't there initially and then magically appeared. I reconstructed those scenes the same way without the problem. Fingers crossed they don't mess up again but I will use your solution if it does.
Hi again Phil, I just did a test moving my jump to trigger to above the submit interaction trigger and it has worked! No need for a feedback slide. I can't thank you enough for help with this.

Is the trigger on feedback layers for those questions? Really difficult to see as some of those screenshots don't have the full pane

Do share your story. Without that it's hard to troubleshoot.
Hi
I am attaching a file that shows the error.
Kind regards

Where can I find out about default triggers?
