Accessibility with dictation software (Dragon Naturally Speaking) - "Clickable" area is off for Continue button in quizzes

This affects courses made using Storyline 360.

Throughout every quiz I've tried to take while participating in a course using Dragon Naturally Speaking, the “Continue” button has a clickable area that is always slightly off when I dictate. The cursor always selects an area that is off to the lower right of the button, which results in nothing being clicked.

I can still use the mouse grid to click the button eventually, but that takes longer and makes the course navigation tedious when I have to do that for every Continue button as I progress through the quiz.

  • Hi Daniella!

It sounds like you've hit a snag with the continue buttons in your Storyline course. I'd be happy to help and have some follow-up questions to start.

    • Do you observe this behavior in preview, as well as the published output of your course?
    • Are you working locally? Working from a network/shared drive may cause erratic behavior.
    • Have you tried performing a repair of your Storyline installation to see if that improves the issue?

If you're comfortable sharing a copy of the affected .story file, I'd be happy to take a closer look! Feel free to upload a copy here in the discussion or privately through a support case.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
