AI Audio and Localization
Hi, I managed to get a trial version of the new localization and it is great. Only thing is it doesn't do much with the AI audio. When I go into Review, if I turn on Closed Captioning I can see the CCs have been translated but there is no way to edit them if they aren't correct. Also, is there a way for the AI to speak the newly translated language? When I go into the "Text to Speech" dialogue box, the text is still english.

Yeah this would be super cool if you can toggle the audio/video that you may have for the seperate languages. We have a lot of dubbed audio for different languages, so it would be nice if we could setup toggles for media as well. If EN > use video_slide01_EN, if ES use video_slide01_ES etc.
I can see the problem arising with the course file with this method though.We were thrilled to see the localization option and feel it'll make our job way easier! However, since a lot of our eLearning courses rely on narration, we're disappointed that the AI text-to-speech narrations aren't translated. Closed captions are a start, as we can copy-paste the captions into the AI text-to-speech module and generate a new audio track, but it's still a lot of steps. Are there plans to add a magical text-to-speech localization feature?
In any case, we're still very excited about this feature!I would put my narration script for the AI text to speech in the Notes panel for each slide. Copying and pasting everything from the closed captions seems very time consuming! If your narration script is in the notes, then you can just right click on your AI text to speech audio wave in the Timeline, delete what's there, and press the copy from Notes to update.
I assume that part of the reason it does not auto update the audio file is that Storyline would have no way of knowing what voice you want to use. For example, if you used the AI voice Laura for your English audio, even if Storyline translated the English audio into French, you'd still have Laura, speaking French in an American accent. A voice from the Voice Library like Audrey, who has a French accent, would sound much better!I did what you recommended and put it in the Notes. The unfortunate thing is for a long course, it is a big pain. Hopefully, they are able to do something about it. Thanks for the tip.
