Arabic Closed Captions do not Display properly (Storyline 360)

We've been doing a lot of localization.

Lately we've been doing English to Arabic.

On screen text looks okay.

We're using AI generated speech with auto generation of closed captions. The closed captions have the punctuation at the wrong end.

I've searched the forums and it seems like this issue was brought up FOUR YEARS ago and was submitted as a bug report. But I can't find any solution.

Please help.

This is the common issue and all you can do is replace . with ۔

  • As a professional localization company, we have no limitations in this regard and can confirm that it works reliably with any text

, including mixed Arabic, English, and punctuation.

Don't hesitate to contact me via the contact form on our website at ezglobe.com if you need help with that.

  • Hi lorraineS,

Sorry to hear that you've run into this setback when translating Arabic Closed Captions.

As you mentioned, we do have this behavior logged as a bug in Storyline. This bug causes the ending punctuation from Right-to-Left languages to switch to the opposite side in Closed Captions.

I don't have any updates to provide as our development team prioritizes other fixes, but I've linked this discussion to the bug report. We'll be sure to notify you if we release a future update that helps.

Thank you for your patience. I'm sorry if this has been slowing you down!
