Hi Amanda,
Welcome to E-Learning Heroes! I understand that PowerPoint is crashing when you click on characters in the Articulate tab. I’m happy to work with you to figure out why this is happening! I have a few follow-up questions regarding the situation so I can understand what you are experiencing a little better.
- Which version of PowerPoint are you using? Studio 360 works with Microsoft Office 365 desktop apps only.
- Is this happening with more than one file or is this the only one? If it's more than one file, are there any similarities between the files?
- Are you working from a shared drive? If so, I recommend saving your files on your local drive before creating, editing, and publishing them. This will help minimize any unexpected behavior.
Thanks for reaching out and I look forward to your response!

Hello Amanda,
Thank you for getting back to me. The version of PPT I am using is Microsoft® PowerPoint® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2208 Build 16.0.15601.20644) 64-bit.
I am only having an issue with one file. I tested functionality of narration, quiz maker and characters in another file with no issue.
My files are on a local drive, not shared. Any other information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
