Automatic Slide Numbering Not Displaying in Preview or when Published Review 360

Good afternoon,

I have automatic slide numbers set up to display in the top right of my screens to display when in preview mode or when published.

It used to work fine - so it leads me to believe the last two updates have a bug in it. Just seeing if I am the only one with this issue and if anyone can figure it out. You will see the sample file has one on screen and one in the master slide - neither show up.

Hi Lisa, I'm not sure why your variables are not appearing in the text box. I was able to resolve the issue by creating new text boxes with the variables.

  • Hello LisaAbrams-639c

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing with the Variable References not displaying as expected. I was able to replicate this behavior on my end.

    • Are you importing your slides from a PowerPoint file?
      • I noticed that when I tried importing this slide into a brand new .story file, I experienced some layout behavior that made me think this could be possible.

    • Is this happening with any other projects you're working on or just this one?

    • I understand you're working with the latest version of Storyline 360 (Update 98).
      • As a troubleshooting step, I recommend conducting a repair of Storyline 360. That can fix some erratic behavior!

I'm glad that carolynkunz was able to help by creating new text boxes! Nice work, carolynkunz! Great to see folks helping one another in the community!

If you are still having difficulty, Lisa, please let us know! We're happy to investigate this further.
