Automatically advance slide when drag and drop interaction is completed

Hello!

I created a puzzle from a drag-and-drop interaction and instead of needing a submit button. I want the slide to advance to the next slide once all the pieces are dropped into their proper target.

Initially, I tried the below trigger, but when I preview the slide, it advances almost immediately.

I adjusted the slide properties as well as the Drag-and-Drop properties. All provided below.

The troubleshooting I've researched indicates a long string of variables and conditions, but it just seems baffling that something could seem so simple but be so complicated.

Greatly appreciate any assistance with this.

  • Hi amandarauscher1 !

This should work, but it looks like you might need to finish setting up your states. The yellow dotted boxes indicate that something isn't available/working, and you may need to create Drop Correct states for each of these objects.

When you select one of the puzzle piece objects, is there a Drop Correct state listed when you go to States?

When you set up this kind of trigger in a Drag and Drop question, it's a little misleading because it presents Drop Correct as an option whether or not the state exists. Hope this helps!

  • rachelatkaiser thank you for looking at this! And I was curious about that route of creating a drop state for each puzzle piece. Would I also need to set the puzzle piece in its correct spot in addition to creating the state visually? Or would the target location that it should snap to suffice? I'll get started on the states for all 21 puzzle pieces! Thanks again for your insight!

Wonderful! So glad it worked. 😊 You might have already figured this out by now but you don't need to set the puzzle piece in the correct spot -- snapping to the target should work.
