Best font size for both desktop and mobile users
I am creating a series of courses and I'm struggling to determine what font size is best for a course that will be accessed from computers and mobile devices. Right now I have the font size at 16-18 depending on the content as that is what seems to look best on the mobile, but it seems kind of small for a desktop.
We suspect that 75-80% of our users will be accessing the course from a mobile device, so if nothing else, I will lean towards what works best for mobile display knowing that those on a computer can increase the zoom settings on a browser.

Hi sallen0907!
Great question!
For Rise 360 courses, 16–18px for body text is right in the recommended range, especially when most learners will be on mobile. Also, Rise is fully responsive, so text doesn’t just shrink on smaller screens but reflows to adapt. Because of that, 16–18px reads comfortably on phones, even if it can feel a bit smaller on desktop at first glance. On larger screens, there’s more white space and wider line length, which can make text appear smaller even while legible.
As you mentioned, desktop users also have the flexibility to zoom their browsers if necessary. It makes sense to prioritize the mobile experience when the majority of learners are accessing the course that way.
I'll also open the floor to our community to share their design suggestions with you!
