Cannot add hyperlink to entire group

Hello,

Maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong -- it's probably simple and obvious but I am not finding a solution.

I am trying to a create a link to a different slide from a group. I am using the Vibrance theme/Objectives template slide. On the slide, the group (which are called Objectives on this template slide) consists of a round shape (called an oval on the timeline), an icon on the shape, a title and a description. They are shown as a group on the timeline. To create the link, I select the group, then I go to Insert Hyperlink, which opens the trigger wizard. Then, I entered the slide # I want to jump to when the user clicks on the group.

When I preview the action, however, only the circle/icon changes to the pointing finger and becomes an active link. The rest of the group is not clickable, but I think it should be if I understand correctly. I know I can make the entire group a hotpsot but that seems like an extra step.

Can anyone tell what I'm doing wrong?
