Changing State of an Object on Another Slide

Hello Everyone!

Storyline 360 newbie here. I'm wondering how/if I can change the state of an object on slide "a" by user interaction on slide "b"?

I have set up a course menu slide where the user clicks on the particular chapter (scene) they wish to view. Once the user finishes the chapter (scene) I'd like the state of the object the user clicked on, on the menu, to change so the user gets a visual indicator that the chapter (scene) is completed.
