"Clicked" State not appearing during Freeform Question

Hello!

I have created a series of Freeform questions for a knowledge check.  For each answer/text box, I have changed the "clicked" state to highlight in a gold colour (See screenshot of state box attached).

The problem is, when I am in preview or review mode, the state is not changing, and the learner is not able to see what they have selected as an answer. This video attached is a "select all that apply" question. Only the second option higlights.

Any thoughts or insight??

  • There are soooo many things that could cause this. For an accurate answer, you need to attach your .story file here.

  • Here's what I found:

All the text boxes (except 2) look like groups. Except, there is only one item in the group, so it can't be ungrouped. When you click on it, the box changes to Selected, but the text is treated as a grouped item, and doesn't change. I don't know how that happened, but something went wrong in the creation and/or copying of them. If I create a new textbox, or copy #2 and change its text, that doesn't happen.

  • I believe a glitch has happened with the animations. Which may mean all the text boxes need rebuilding.

The animations are set to by paragraph which is why they look like grouped objects, but removing that then means the object no longer appears on preview.

I think the animations corrupted something and they all need rebuilding as removing the animations doesn't fix it.
