clicking to show and remove text box

Hello,

This is an easy question, I'm rather frustrated that I can't seem to figure it out on my own, as I thought I'd finally started getting the hang of the program.

I want to create a button that I can click to show text, then click the same button to hide that text. Do i need to create variables or something? I figured it had something to do with the order of the triggers at first, but I can't make it work!!

Hi Susan. No worries—you've got this!

In your original file, you used states to show and hide your content. But if you want an even faster and easier solution, layers may be your best bet. I've attached a new version of your first slide to show how that can work.

On the base layer, all that's there is your button and bullet list. There's just one trigger here: clicking the button shows the "pop up" layer. The "pop up" layer has your supplies list and a second button that sits over top of your first one. There's a different trigger on that button: clicking it hides the "pop up" layer.

So by simply adding a layer and duplicating your button, you can make this work with just two triggers! I hope that helps and let me know if you have any questions.

Hi ladies, I have also a question based almost on the same topic. I have a lot of text in a layer and I want to avoid animations to scroll the whole thing. I want learners to click and reveal each text box that I have on the same layer. Hope that is clear. I'm not that familiar with Storyline yet. Big thanks
