Closed Captions (CC) changing location

Hi there,

Searching for a solution to a problem that we've encountered but can't seem to get over. Its the movement of Closed Captions from the correct location to the incorrect location (as seen in the attached screenshot). The problem occurs when the file is uploaded to CSOD Cornerstone.

Details:
CC's in correct location in Preview, review link.
SCORM Format - SCORM2004, 3rd Edition (this has to be the format used)
SCORM works correctly through SCORMCloud testing, through multiple browsers (Edge, Safari and Chrome).

Has anyone experienced this issue? And ideally, know how to resolve it? Or even any ideas on what to troubleshoot next.

  • Hello Kelly,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Based on the troubleshooting steps you've tried, it looks like the behavior is specific to your LMS. Good call as well testing in SCORM Cloud, this helps confirm that the behavior isn't caused by the course but by the environment where it is hosted.

We're not seeing this issue being reported by other users, so we recommend reaching out to your LMS support team so they can check what's causing the Closed Captions to display in an off position. We'll also be glad to test your course for you to verify that the behavior is not course related. If this works for you, please share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case for testing. We'll delete it when we're done!

  • Hi Kelly,

I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 86, we’ve included important fixes and new features.

One of the new features we’ve included:

    • Position captions at the top or bottom of the slide to ensure closed caption visibility and prevent the obstruction of critical course content.

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You’ll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
