Closed Captions for Audio files in Rise?
Am I missing something? Why isn't there an option to add Closed Captions to audio files in Rise the same way that I can add .vtt files for captions on Videos?
Hi USCMarty you are not missing anything. Unfortunately, Rise is missing this functionality. There isn't a means to add a captions file to and audio file in HTML5 in the same way a captions file can be added to video. This is probably why they haven't addressed it yet, as it requires custom programming to make caption files compatible with audio files.
You can either:
- Turn the audio into a video file so that you can display captions at least. The video content, could be the captions, or just add a poster and attach the VTT file as usual.
- Add an accordion device under the audio file, and add the audio transcript to this component.
