How do I export Closed Captions?
My SME said I used the wrong term in the narration in a couple of my slides. He didn't tell me where. Helpful right? I was hoping to export the closed captions to search them for the term but there's no Export in my menu, which is what all the older help info says. Translation doesn't include closed captioning. Is there any way to download the captions as a batch anymore?
You can get the .vtt files from the .story file. Copy the .story and change the file extension to .zip then extract the zip file and you’ll find the .vtt files in \story\media. If you want to search for the phrase without manually looking for it you can open the media folder in VS code (right click, open with code), and use search in folder to find it.

On the missing Export button, I don’t think it’s gone. It’s on the contextual Options tab that appears only when the audio or video object itself is selected on the timeline… the VS code route will just make it easier to find the phrase if you don’t know where it is
JeanMarrapodi-c if you want to use my Caption Sweep tool, it should automatically do what you’re trying to achieve. It’s 100% free and nothing is uploaded it’s all done in your browser. Note that I haven’t tested this in a recent StoryLine build so let me know if theres anything that doesn't work…

The joys of corporate lockdowns. It won't let me open your tool. <sigh> I shall noodle on this overnight. I suppose in all this time, I could have just listened to the whole course for these titles, but I didn't hear them in the build process. The joys of proofing. We hear what we think we put!

JeanMarrapodi-c You must be running one of the older Storyline builds. Update to the latest version. You should be able to export all captions in a project.
Hmmmmmm, Nedim I update whenever I get the notifications that say I need to update. I checked and found out what the culprit was. I was one of the Beta testers for Storyline features earlier this year, and I thought they did away with that, but lo and behold, I was in the beta version, which doesn't show export in the file menu. I opened up the non-beta version, and VOLIA!! There it is in the menu. What a weird thing to have left off. Oh well. Mystery solved. HOORAY. Thanks to both of you.
