Code within a text block eg within a sentence

A common need in technical courses is not only to have blocks of code that Rise supports but also to reference inline commands or technical terms within a sentence, for example:

Use the foo -l command to list foo

Ironically this comment box supports this functionality as it is a widely used pattern and helps readers isolate the "command text".

Any suggested way to achieve the above? I believe blocks are restricted to a single font?

  • Hi Tony! Thanks for reaching out, correct fonts are globally set throughout the course. We're tracking requests for more control over fonts within Headers and Text Blocks.

We'll add you to this list and reach out if we make any changes. In the meantime, as a workaround, I can suggest highlighting the text by using italicized font / bold font and then a gray background.

There is a workaround, but you have to sacrifice either bold or italic style.
