Combining a tracking variable with custom quiz feedback, is this possible?

This is my first time posting so I apologize if it's not super clear.

I'm helping a coworker with a gamified course that is using a scenario of a road trip where along the way you make choices that add or subtract mileage from your journey (more mileage is bad, less mileage is good.) I created a variable with simple buttons that add or subtract certain amounts of miles to get the concept down but I want to take it a step further so I can track the specific choices they make along with the variable tracking.  Instead of just correct and incorrect feedback like on a typical quiz, it would be adding or subtracting miles but also providing information specific to their choice hence the custom feedback. Am I able to create quizzes with custom feedback and custom designed buttons for their choices and also use those answers to feed or subtract points into my variable tracker? The tracker will also change the state of a little mileage meter somewhere on the slide to give the learner a visual of where they are at.

I have uploaded a very simple version of what I'm talking about, which is really just me experimenting. It seems to be working for the most part but I haven't been able to change the answer options to look unique (say flash cards for example) and am wondering if it's possible to combine all these elements. If it is, how would I go about it?
