Corrupted Unreadable Imported Assets
Hello StephanieSmi779,
Sorry to hear about the trouble with the corrupt assets!
I appreciate the troubleshooting you've already done. You did a great job recovering those assets, and the steps you applied align with the recommendations in our knowledge base article below:
File corruption is unpredictable, and there's no straightforward way to determine what causes it. Common causes are environmental (disk errors, power outages, improper shutdowns), viruses, failed Windows updates, and even file size (i.e., very large files have a higher risk of corruption). Consider these preventative measures to protect your project files and assets.
If the problem happens again, let me know, and I'd be more than happy to assist you further. You can also connect with us privately in a support case if you want more targeted help.
I have had this happen to me as well and Storyline used to tell me what was removed. Now I have no idea what has been removed without going through my entire project to try to find what was removed. Is there any way to find out what asset or assets were removed?

Hi JenifferBrubake!
That sounds really frustrating and not knowing what was removed makes it tough to move forward!
I'm sorry that you're running into this setback! I've opened a support case on your behalf so our support engineers can dig in and help. They'll continue the conversation from here, and work with you directly to identify what was removed and why.
