Creating Reflection Questions
I'm currently using Rise to create courses that will eventually be used in an LMS. We want to have places where users can answer reflection questions throughout the course. Ideally, we want that data to be persistent, so when a user comes back, they'll see answers that they've entered before. We also want that data to be sent to the LMS so that instructors can see what learners entered. Since Rise can't do text entry, I've created a Storyline scene that is a survey that collects their text entry answers, and then I'm embedding that Storyline into a blocks lesson on Rise. However, I don't think I've done it correctly since I'm not seeing any data. I'm also not sure if they data is getting sent to the LMS. I'm still pretty new to Articulate, so maybe this is a simple fix. Any help would be appreciated. Happy to provide more details or files I'm using if that's helpful.
Hello, Courtenay!
Right now, the best way to add open-ended, survey questions to a Rise 360 course is to embed a survey from a third-party tool (like Google Forms or Survey Monkey) using a Multimedia Embed block.
Use this iFrame code format for easy embedding!
<iframe src="URL HERE"></iframe>

Hello,
I have created a google form for learners to complete a text entry question. I have tried to embed it using the multimedia embed block and the iframe code you have provided. However, the form is not displaying, and instead I am getting the link displayed rather than the form. I have attached a screenshot here. I am on a free trial currently and am wondering if this is the reason? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello, Jamal. I couldn't get that shortened link to work, either, but when I used it in the browser, it redirected to this URL:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdNuDxrpEJeJKgpNp6u26FH0f9R2xAg5IagJTPETYmgwLWlaQ/viewform
I was able to use the iframe formula with that URL in a Rise 360 lesson:
<iframe src="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdNuDxrpEJeJKgpNp6u26FH0f9R2xAg5IagJTPETYmgwLWlaQ/viewform"></iframe>

Thank you Crystal.
I'm actually having trouble embedding any link into rise
For example, I'm trying to embed a YouTube link via Multimedia --> Code sippet using both the embed code directly from YouTube, and the <iframe src="URL HERE"></iframe>
Embed code
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VXt9Zt2urIs" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
<iframe src="URL HERE"></iframe>
<iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXt9Zt2urIs"></iframe>
Iāve tried both of these and they are not showing the video, but rather, just the code.
Can someone please tell me what Iām doing wrong?
Thank you!
Hi Jamal! No problem. The code snippet block is a text block used to show code but not execute it.
To embed web content, use the Multimedia > Embed block. Let me know if I can help further!

Hi there,
Is a reflection activity, survey , in Storyline 360 accessible or not? Could anyone please let me know. I need to use it in a course but it also have to be accessible, so I am not sure if this is OK to try. Thank you. Regards, Stef

Seems like 2 years of asking and nothing yet? I think this function is critical moving forward if we want to be innovative. Everything is leading edge with Rise and Storyline 360 - lets have the chance to capture text - view it as tutors, the learner views it and can get a summary from time to time, and ultimately some eLearner authors are getting learner input into a final strategic plan or summary - with selective text. Lets get this going please. Thank you.

I only say it as I have seen a great example of a financial planner elearning course helping a person produce a financial plan with graphs text and more. Wow! Love to be able to have this capacity with Rise and Storyline. Any ideas anyone on how to do this?
Hello, Stefaniada! Rise 360 isn't fully accessible yet, but we're working on it! I don't have details on how learners will navigate Storyline blocks using screen readers and keyboard navigation, but we'll keep you in the loop as we learn more about that.

This would be an awesome feature to have. +1
I don't want to add to your tickets, but you can tag my company there (if that's possible). - AngelaNicholasCommunity Member
+1 to adding a large text entry interaction that saves/prints to Rise!
