Curve line shape
Hi everybody,
I really often use bezier curves in my graphics. I never managed to control the curve line. The drawing process is unclear and there is no point edit mode.
I have been drawing them in external applications so far but would like to have it native in storyline.

Same here, Articulate team. For what we pay for a Storyline 360/Articulate 360 license, this issue should have been resolved years ago. PLEASE hire a former Adobe Illustrator or Microsoft PowerPoint graphics employee to help you code curves properly! Geesh!.....

Thanks Ashley.
It is pretty strange the are maybe 3 messages about bezier curves in the forums. Looks like nobody use them.
By the way I didn't find any where any information on how it really works when you create them.
So before we get en editing tool it wold be really nice to have some guides to draw them.
I can tell you I have drawn hundreds of them with a lot of tools and I he even myself developed drawing tools but in Storyline I have no clue how to get the result I want.
Have a nice day.

I just added the bezier curve feature request as well (I've used AI since '92 and have no problem drawing that way). I also added a couple of other feature requests.
Hope everyone has a great day!

I'll definitely jump on Bézier curve bandwagon with a feature request. It may take someone a little time to understand how it works but it's super powerful once you get the hang of it.
Thanks for sending in the feature requests!

Anything new on this ? I also don't want to draw simple arrows in Illustrator then import each. When drawing a simple line with only three control points (origin, intermediate and end) i have a spaghetti-looking line with many inflections points. as if there were Bezier control point stretched "too far"
Further when adding an arrowhead, it does not line up with the direction of the curve,
The 2 curves on this image both had only three control points (origin, intermediate and end)

Hi Philippe,
Welcome to the club. I wish you good luck.
Sincerely.
Looks like this conversation is a bit dated and honestly, bezier curves is something I'm not familiar with.
Are either of you using Storyline 360? With the new pixel-perfect precision, I was able to create something similar to what (I think) you are looking for:

Looks great but this is with SL3 (should be the same if i am correct ?)
Hi Philippe,
No, it's not the same. This was a new update in Storyline 360 released last month.
I guess I do not have anything new after all :)
This is a SL3 file, and the bottom arrow was created there, but it's not as precise as I shared above.

Nice but not what i need :)
look the square on the left of the image: in Illustrator i can draw a line that is tangential to 2 adjacent side and has a nice smooth curve like those use in technical illustrations. On the insert on the right, is what i get when i try to do this in SL3. That second curve has too many inflections
Thanks for the explanation Philippe. Much appreciated.
I have submitted your thoughts, use-case, and image in as a feature request for Storyline 3.
