Custom Drag and Drop - How to Eliminate Snap to Center

I'm using Articulate 360.  I'm creating a custom drag and drop (not using the built-in form) with a single draggable object and four drop targets (three incorrect and one correct).  If it drops on an incorrect area, I want to play audio feedback and change the state of a graphic so that area is shaded.  If it lands on a correct area, I want to play audio and then advance to the next slide.  I have it set up with triggers.

I have two questions:

1) The draggable object is snapping to the center of the targets when dropped. I want it to stay in the same position where it was dropped.

2) Can I return the draggable object to its original location if it dropped outside of the four allowable areas?

    Re 1.) Right-click on your drop targets, select Drag and Drop> Free

    Re 2.) Right-click your drag object, select Drag and Drop> Drag Return

    I need the object that is dropped on the "wrong" target to stay where the user placed it. I have set it to "Free," but it still keeps snapping to the center. Are there any other options?

    Hi Dawn!

    You'll want to uncheck "Snap dropped items to drop target". This will leave the items where the user drops them.

    Thanks Lauren. Unfortunately, that does not work either. I have tried every option. It appears that the old bug is back where if you have a button with states that need to change as it is hovered over, dragged or dropped onto the stage then the snap options, or lack there of, do not work and the object always snaps to the center of the "wrong" target area.

    Hi everyone,

    Has this bug been corrected? I have created a Freeform drag-and-drop interaction, where users can drag multiple objects and drop them anywhere on the screen. I have tried unchecking "Snap dropped items to drop target" or choosing "Free" and objects still snap to an offset location. When I drag and drop an object (object #2) near an object that has already been dropped (object #1), object #1 changes location! My intention here is for users to design a poster by clicking and dragging multiple design elements (objects) onto a blank background. The objects do not stay where they are dropped, or, when dropped, affect the position of other objects! Is there a way around this?
