Custom Button with Custom Icon State Help
Hello all! I am attempting to create a button with an icon (not one of the limited included icons found on the format tab) that allows me to change the state of the button background color and the icon color, based on the user's input. I attempted to build a three part button consisting of:
- A transparent box, that is the 'clickable' part
- An icon that is from the Articulate library, but not found on the actual button preset icon list.
- A square background that is filled with a color.
What I'm trying to do (and failing miserably at) is to get three basic states:
- A normal state. With the 'i' in a dark color, background in the same color as the project background.
- A hover state. The "i" goes a slight grey, background in the same color as the project background.
- Click and Selected State. The "i" is now the color of the project background and the background has shifted to the darker color the "i" was.
I can get the normal state, and the hover state, but once selected the "i" goes back to the "normal" state, hiding it...
I'd like to create a collection of these buttons behaving the same way as this one, if fixed. Any ideas? I'm absolutely certain there is something simple I a missing. Thank you in advance for any light you can lend. π
You can insert icons or other graphics directly into the states of an object. That's a good way to create the kind of button you want. This has been done in the attached file.
Note that you don't need any triggers for an object to change to a built-in state.

Judy, you are a πΈβ. I knew it had to be simpler than what I was doing! I appreciate that.
