Does Articulate have any plans to make a Mac OS compatible version of Storyline?
Or any other products?

For consideration -- Many corporations have security policies which prevent parallels/boot camp from being utilized. I have a PC for the sole purpose of using the Articulate suite, which honestly creates a poor experience on my end. Just a ping in favor of a Mac-based application; I will never consider using Articulate for myself or with a future employer unless I can use it on Mac.
Thanks for sharing your voice here, Derek.

I wonder how much money Articulate is foregoing in their stubborn refusal to develop a Mac version? Lots of other companies have both PC and Mac options for purchase. Articulate 360 is a very expensive purchase for a private consultant like me who only uses it when a client requests it. I have to maintain a PC machine for this purpose and if I need to work on something with a client at their premises I can't, because the Storyline file is not on my Mac laptop. Very frustrating. As H5P becomes more sophisticated, and installed on lots of LMSs I think I will probably let my Articulate licence lapse in the next couple of years.

Totally agree with Lilian and Neal. It's ridiculous that I can't use Storyline natively on my Mac without Parallels or VMWare. I have purchasing power with my next job and I won't be recommending Articulate because of this. I will move in the direction of the Adapt Framework, Smartbuilder or Dominknow because I can collaborate with team members that are using Windows AND Mac.
Look at what your competition is doing. Lectora, Dominknow, Adapt, Elucidat, Smartbuilder. ALL of these tools run on Macs!

It's such a shame that you don't plan to include Macs. I know many developers who use Macs and it is a real pain to have to go to a PC platform. It's the ONLY software I use that requires me to turn on my horrible PC. Please reconsider.

Agreed....

Sheeple buy MACS. I had to buy a Macbook Pro just to open a Logic Pro X project. Other than that it's just an over-priced (repeat > over-priced) paper-wait that sits on the opposite corner of my desk. - Baaaaahhhhhhhh.

Robert, you might want to clarify your statement, because the way I read this - you are calling everyone on this post "Sheeple" and telling them to buy MACS.:)
And I would kindly disagree. Many designers use software that requires a lot of processing. Every PC I've owned took 5 times the amount of time to process a task than a Mac. For example, my 8 GB PC would would take 6 minutes to export a 2 minute edited video (Adobe Premiere). My 8 GB Mac does it in 1. I know there are other factors to compare, but I've had better graphics cards, video cards, and more RAM on a PC, and still was outperformed by my Mac of lesser "power."

Articulate 360 not having a Mac version, really is a shame...I'm running storyline on my Mac through the VMWare, but it isn't an ideal situation. I have to go back and forth regularly, and it doesn't make it for an easy and convenient process. Also, it bugs down my computer. I wish they would re-consider releasing a Mac version for Storyline.

Another vote for a native MAC option!

Viewing courses on MAC is not the issue BUILDING is. You are sadly limiting people's ability to use the platform that they want and causing them an additional fee and pain of running vm ware or parallels. My mac was never the same after installing parallels and windows with its continuous updates....please stop being so stubborn and keep up with the competition.

This is an enlightening thread! I am new to the field of instructional design. I just tested Rise with the free trial and was going to test Storyline before buying a subscription only to discover that Storyline doesn't work on Macs . . . Articulate, add me to the long list of customers you've lost because there is no Mac version.

Hello, Still following this thread, and totally share the disappointment in Articulate’s narrow-minded business strategy for Storyline. But I think there is another piece to the puzzle
It would seem that Articulate is banking on Rise becoming the solution for mult-platform use. However their licensing structure poses a serious problem for many organizations who want to own their content and be able to update it in the future. There is still no way to archive your Rise course off-line, in such a way that you could return to it in the future, without maintaining an unbroken continuous license subscription for the whole time. For many nonprofit organizations this is a rather large hurdle at the $1000+ a year price point for the entire Articulate package.
And for freelance consultants like myself, the requirement of maintaining a continuous subscription makes it a really difficult sell to clients, even though the Rise product itself would be suitable for many if not most of their training situations. This subscription policy would appear to be driven purely by short term greed, rather than long-term wisdom and building up respect for their product.

It wouldn’t bother me to use parallels and a VM but the truth is the amount of updates on windows and the time they take are beyond annoying!! Takes hours from my work time even when set to automatic. I also vote for a Mac version of Articulate. Please? Included are the security measures you have to take using windows. Frustrating and I love the product, so I do it but would seriously like to see a poll on how many of your clients would like a native version of Articulate?

I have been a long time user and fan of Storyline, but when I switched jobs, my new boss would not pay for an additional Windows and VMware license to run on my Mac. Look at the length of this thread! The lack of vision and commitment to their customers is disheartening. Now it sounds with the new Macs the situation is even worse. Has anyone found even a close alternative to Storyline? I have not, so instead my audiences have to settle for less interactive content.

I'm actually horrified to see that Storyline is STILL not available for Mac.
