emoji?
Is there a trick to making emoji work at all? https://articulate.com/support/article/Articulate-Review-Version-History seems to indicate that emoji should.
But if I insert any onto a text box on the stage, almost no emoji show.
On the Timeline grey versions of the emoji show up
Publishing shows everything as broken.

Happy to share some insight on this!
Emojis are supported when leaving comments in Review 360, however, the text boxes in Storyline only support 'plaintext'. Testing this out on my end (Storyline 360 version 3.79.30921.0 via Windows Parallels on a Mac M1) I was able to reproduce the same behavior you are experiencing.
As a workaround, I wanted to share this related discussion where symbols are used in lieu of emojis.

Hello Steven, are you allowed to share the reason why emojis are banned? I mean, emojis does not seem to go against HTML5.

I'm happy to jump in! Emoji support has yet to be added to Storyline 360. It’s not currently on our feature roadmap, but I’ll be sure to update this discussion if our team decides to reroute.
