Engaging the Learner

Hi All,

I remember years ago watching a video where the learner was engaged by entering their name in a field in Storyline.  Their name would then be used throughout the course in the form of conversation.

Any tips on how I can build this in Storyline?

and

Will it be possible to transfer the block into Storyline?

thanks

  • Hi,

In Storyline, you can go to Insert>Input>Text Entry Field. The learner can input their name, which is stored in a text variable, typically called "Text Entry" unless you change the name.

Later, you can recall that information from the Text Entry variable by inserting a Text Box wherever you need it. After creating the text box, choose Insert>Reference and choose the Text Entry variable that you used to capture the learner's name. Whatever was typed in the initial text entry box will show up as the reference inside your text box.
