Thank you for the assistance! Meanwhile, I can quite easily copy and paste the formula as a png, which can be tagged with alt-text as needed, if necessary.

Working between multiple software parties is a challenge for 508 development.

We ended up doing the same unfortunately. Announcing specifically as a button rather than say an interactive element was really a no-go for us.
