Error importing audio files
Hi,
I wonder if you can help me. I'm trying to import audio files into my Storyline project. I'm able to select the file, but when it tries to load I get the following error message:
An error occurred while importing this file.
<Filename> does not appear to be a supported audio format.
I've not been able to import any audio files (either mp3 or wav) as I recieve this message each time. The audio files and the project are hosted on a local drive.
Does anyone know what's going on here?

Hi Nick!
You may encounter the following error message when importing audio into Articulate content:
“Unsupported audio file or bitrate.”
Or, you may successfully import audio but hear noise or feedback in your published output.
Although Articulate Storyline and Articulate Studio '13 support a wide range of audio file formats (AAC, AIF, AIFF, M4A, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA), not all codecs and bitrates are supported. If you encounter either of the issues described above, we recommend converting your audio files to 16 bit 44 KHZ PCM WAV for best results.

Thanks Leslie. It's hard to get access to those programmes at my work unfortunately (large corporate), but now I know the specification of the file I can see if there's someone here who can help.
Sounds great Nick. Thanks for the update and just pop back in if you need any further assistance from us.

Hi Leslie, I've finally been to able to give this a go.
The media team have converted them to the specification above for me, but I'm getting the same error message. Any ideas?
Thanks
Would you be able to share one of the files for me to test Nick?

It's difficult to send, as it's brand theme tune which I'm not allowed to share (and our email is very restrictive).
Are there properties I could look at this end and send you the details?
I was going to try to import the file myself to see if it we could narrow it down a bit more as to if it was the audio file or your software perhaps. It still sounds like it is probably the audio file though. Do you have an option to right click on the file and see the media info? Something like this:

Thanks Nick, I appreciate your patience as we try to figure this out.
Can you try to move the file to your local drive and see if it works from there? The first thing that I noticed was the file location.
Would you be able work with our support team and share files there if private? You can contact them here if needed and an NDA can be signed if needed. I just want you to be able to get the best support you need here :)

I received this message too. I finally discovered that the audio file names were too long. When I shortened them, my problem was solved!
