Error message in ComplianceWire
Hello all - Sorry for late replay here.... We learned that this relates to the web protocol used by ComplianceWire to launch the SCORM course. See email response from UL that I received. We made the change from http to https and are no longer having issues. Best of luck to everyone!
Hello Rebecca,
Thank you for your email concerning this error message.
Currently, your SCORM courses are set to launch with an older web protocol, http, instead of the newer protocol, HTTPS. This is controlled by a preference we can change for you.
What's happening is a recent update to Chrome made a change that blocks loading SCORM courses properly from HTTP. For now, using Edge is a workaround, but we don't know for how long since Edge is built from the Chrome code base.
There are two ways to correct this behavior:
The first solution is ComplianceWire preference can be changed to launch SCORM with HTTPS. This is the better long-term solution, but there's a catch - some SCORM content may not work properly launched as HTTPS, depending on how it was developed.
What would need to happen is you need to confirm that all your SCORM courses will launch as HTTPS; you will need to contact the authors of your SCORM courses to find out.
If that information isn't available, what we can do if you like is make the setting change in your Training environment and you can upload and test your courses.
Either way, once you've made sure your courses will still work, you can let us know to make the change in Production and we'll go ahead and take care of that for you.
The second solution is there's a setting that can be changed in Chrome on the user end to allow http SCORM content again. This can be done at the individual level or depending on how your network is set up, pushed out by policy. I've attached a short document on what the setting is and where to find it.
Please let us know how would you like to proceed.
Regards,
