Feedback master seem to be a bit buggy, formatting not "sticking"

Starting with a new project, I added a simple multiple-choice question.

Here are the steps I took:

  • Opened the Feedback Master editing screen.
  • cut the background box from the master (I want different colored boxes for correct/incorrect)
  • pasted it into each of the children layouts and moved it to the back.
  • in the master, moved the question title text box and set to left align (successfully, the children reflected the change.
  • in the master, moved the feedback text box and set to left align (all children layouts but the Correct layout reflected the change. After three attempts, the Correct layout did too - frustrating)
  • moved the button in the master, all good.
  • closed the Feedback Master template and previewed the correct/incorrect layouts.  Mostly good, except the Correct layout's font size is a bit larger.
  • Opened the Feedback Master editing screen, and selected each of the children layouts and sure enough, the Correct layout's font looks larger there too, although the toolbar says all children's placeholder text areas are the same font family and size.
  • Instead of the dark gray font, I wanted black and in the Master layout I selected the text boxes and changed the font color.  All the children layouts reflected the change, but not the Correct layout.  I then changed the title placeholder to red and same deal.

This is where I saved the project and uploaded it here.

  • Hello Everyone!

I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 74, we’ve included important fixes and new features.

One of the bugs that was fixed was for when the Feedback layer did not inherit the font style and color changes in the feedback master.

To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help!

      Hi Kali!

Sorry to hear you've run into this setback!

Testing the behavior on my end, in the current version of Storyline 360, I was unable to reproduce the bug discussed previously in this thread. My feedback layers inherited the font and color I set within the Feedback Master. Everything was working as expected!

If you've confirmed that you are working locally, and a repair of your Storyline installation doesn't do the trick, do you mind sharing your .story file for testing on our end? Feel free to upload a copy here in the discussion or privately through a support case.

  • I am also having a similar issue. The formatting of the text is respected, however the positioning of the text is not. Here are screenshots of the master and how it shows on the actual slides:

      Hi DavidWestra-98b

Thanks for reaching out and sharing screenshots with us! I'm sorry to hear you've run into this unexpected behavior. I tested this on my end, and was unable to experience this positioning change with the text.

      • Do you experience this text positioning change when using any other Feedback Master slides in your course or just when using this specific Feedback Master slide?
      • Are you currently working and saving your project file locally
      • Are you experiencing this in any other .story projects you are working on?

Our latest version of Storyline 360 is Update 97. If you've installed the latest update and still experience this issue, I recommend repairing your Storyline installation.

Please let us know if you're still encountering this issue with the Feedback Master formatting not sticking after the repair. We'd be happy to take a closer look at your .story file in this thread or privately in a support case

Looking forward to hearing from you!
