Five Steps to Functional Sliders in *MOST* cases
This knowledge base has dozens of questions about sliders, and many of the responses say, 'upload your file.' Then, anyone else with the same question has the option of downloading someone else's file (or dozens of them) to try to analyze and troubleshoot which file might be like theirs. Here are 5 steps to a functional slider in most cases.
- Variable name and name of slider in the timeline should match. Ensure all triggers also refer to this slider name.
- Start: Where the thumb begins between 0 and the first stop. (This is a hypothesis based on observed slider behavior.)
- Initial: Where the thumb sits on initial slide view.
- End: Last number of stops. Here I have 4 stops with increments of 1.
- Step: Step increments, not the total number of steps! If you use total number of steps (e.g., 4) then the slider will only stop on your last step.

That's a nice summary, Paula!
I think many of the slider questions in the Forum wouldn't be needed if folks understood those basic settings.
