Full Window Mode Capabilities for videos in Rise?

After uploading videos into Rise, all videos will expand to full window mode in preview mode.  However, once published, it will not expand to full window.  While not a deal breaker for larger sized video content on main lessons, this proves difficult when uploaded into a marker or accordion, etc., it will not expand.  Should we be publishing it a certain way?

Same issue here, we placed a video in a marker (just like Chris) and the video will not go full screen.  We won't be able to use this in the training.

Hi Dalia, sorry to hear that you are experiencing the same issue. Have you tested your course on a different LMS such as SCORM Cloud? If it works in SCORM Cloud, the issue could be with your LMS. You can contact your LMS's support team for help. If the issue also happens in SCORM Cloud, feel free to send us your course here. Our support engineers are ready to help.

Just experience the same issue and found this thread.  We have Cornerstone (CSOD) as well.  Rather frustrating as we can't upload the videos into CSOD as they are too big so we saved them to Vimeo.  Unfortunately, we can't embed directly into CSOD as they only accept YouTube embedding which is where Rise came in.  The training illustrates Excel models so full screen option is vital for us.  In the mean time, only option appears to be setting the video size to "full width".  Will share any additional info I find out from CSOD.

  • Hello Team,

Can we view a video in our Rise output on a separate window as well?

    Regards,

    Garima

Hi, Garima! Videos in Rise can be played using picture-in-picture mode in browsers that allow this feature.  This way, your learners can watch the video in a floating window while the browser through the rest of your course. You can find more details about this here in this article. I hope this helps!

  • We're seeing the same Full Screen issue using a Rise SCORM on Saba LMS. I don't see picture-in-picture available on Windows via Chrome or Edge.

An xAPI/TinCan seems to enable the fullscreen/min. in our staging env but I won't know for sure until publishing is complete

Hi Scott! I'm sorry to hear you are encountering the same issue. Is there an option in Saba to launch the course in another window? We see this behavior when launching the course within the same LMS window.

  • Yes, when launching in a new window with Saba's "modern" player, the full-screen toggle works. But launching in a new window wasn't a desirable experience a few months ago. I guess some choices will need to be made

    Hi All,

Just thought I'd jump in here and add my two cents as we've had some clients experience the same issue with our LMS. It turns out there is an 'allowfullscreen' attribute on the 'iframe' element:
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/iframe#attr-allowfullscreen

We're using the old, deprecated 'frameset' and 'frame' elements and not 'iframe' in our LMS, which may be the case with others who are experiencing the issue. This is something we're updating soon, so it may be worthwhile to check in with your LMS to see if that's the case as well.

Having noted that, full-screen works in our LMS on mobile and when launching in a new window.

Using CSOD LMS and uploaded SCORM 1.2. Fullscreen button works on Safari browser but not Chrome browser.

  • Hi,
Is there any word on how to address this issue? I'm having a similar problem with the labeled graphic interaction. The video has no option to go fullscreen. I need this feature for accessibility reasons since I have a deaf colleague and they won't be able to see the captions at this size.

This is the only interaction where there is no full screen option on the video.
    Thanks!

  • I am experiencing the same issue in Docebo. The maximize button is available on Articulate but not when the course is housed in our LMS. How should I rectify this issue?

      Hi Shanna,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue. I've added you to the list of affected users and we'll let you know as soon as a fix is released.

So far, we've identified the following workarounds which worked for other users:

      • Launch the content outside of a frame/frameset (open the course in a new window)
      • Publish the course using SCORM 2004

Feel free to open a case with our support team if you need help verifying these workarounds!
