Getting stuck in a Rise knowledge check section

Hi, experts!

Might you have any idea why I get stuck in a knowledge check section where I've met the required score to complete? I've attached the error for visuals.

Here's what I've tried doing:

  • refreshed Chrome
  • rebuilt the section
  • ensured the passing score for all quizzes (knowledge check) is consistent
  • answered all questions correctly, but the continue button doesn't appear even while trying both to preview the section only and the course in its entirety

Thanks so much!

  • Hi there, Adriel! Thanks for including that screenshot! I would expect the continue button to activate when you meet or exceed the passing score, which is 75%. Strangely that's not happening in your course!

Would you be willing to share this course with our team so we can take a closer look? If that works for you, you can open a case here, and send us the Share link in the case description.

We'll take a closer look at your quizzes and let you know what we find!

Hi - did you get to the bottom of what was happening with this Rise/Knowledge Check issue?

I have also created a Knowledge Check where the learner is answering the question correctly, but Rise is marking the question as incorrect. This then means that the learner is unable to pass the Knowledge Check overall (pass mark is set at 100%, which we require, as this is an essential competency assessment).

I've checked the original Rise module, which looks to be correctly setup - and I've run through the Knowledge Check many times in Review mode and cannot get the error to repeat. I've also run the course, as setup on our LMS (which is OLM), and cannot recreate the issue; however, the user consistently cannot pass this Knowledge Check, despite giving the correct answers.

      Any suggestions?

        Hello JuliaSalmon-cf0,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue.

This behavior appears to be isolated since we don't see recent reports of it from other users. It's also interesting that you're unable to replicate it. I'd like to ask a few questions to clarify your experience.

        Looking forward to your response!

  • Hi Jose,

Thank you for coming back to me so quickly - much appreciated. I'm going to start by posting this response and then adding to it. (I've answered four times and every time I hit the 'Reply' button, the E-Learning Heroes website blanks all of my answer :(

    One of those days...

  • So, in answer to your questions:

    • I have not been able to replicate the behaviour in a newly created Rise course, in that everything I have tested behaves exactly as it should.
    • I have also imported the Knowledge Check lesson into a new Rise course and it behaves correctly in both the original and new versions of the course.
    • I have uploaded the course to SCORM Cloud and it performs as expected.
    • The user was running the course in MS Edge and I have recommended them trying it in Google Chrome (as well as trying it after they have cleared their browser history/cookies). Waiting to hear the outcome of this last point.

  • So, in light of all the above, I'm inclined to think this is an isolated user issue, rather than related to Rise. However, it has been a really useful process, to analyse all of the options - so thank you for your guidance. Very much appreciated.

      Hi JuliaSalmon-cf0!

Glad to see Joe has been helping you. Thanks for following up!

The course performing as expected in SCORM Cloud is a good indicator that this behavior is LMS-specific. Or related to the individual end user in some way. I suggest connecting with your LMS admin, to see if they have any additional insight on this hiccup.
