Help needed with Rise Quiz lesson results and attempts

Hello!  I'm working on a course where we would like to conclude with a quiz, make passing the quiz required to complete the course, and restrict the number of total attempts to 3.  

The first problem i'm having is that I'm not seeing the labels appear indicating the number of attempts remaining or for when you have used all attempts.  I've tried to customize the message for when all attempts are used and really want to be able to confirm that users will see that message.  

The second problem is, I'd like to be able to follow the help provided by staff in another post, but simply don't understand how to do it.  In THIS post the suggestion is to "consider adding a custom message or instructions on the results screen...".  Maybe i'm missing this, but where exactly can I make that change.  

Finally, I'd also like to call attention to the fact that I've seen a number of questions regarding the quiz and results that ultimately led to "we'll add this to the feature request list on your behalf".  Its utterly ridiculous that the industry-standard, best all around option for developing elearning has not added some simple flexibility for simple customization (just TEXT) around the results for quizzes/assessments.  This commentary applies broadly to so many other feature requests (particularly for Rise) as well.  Very frustrating.
