Help with uploading to SCORM Cloud
Hi,
We are using Articulate Rise to generate CMI5 ZIP files that we are uploading to SCORM Cloud.
We want our content to launch in the current window and not launch in a new pop-up window.
In SCORM Cloud, we set the Launch Behavior settings to Frameset for SCO Launch Type and Player Launch Type:
This should open the course in the existing window, but it still opens in a new window.
We’ve found that we can open the course in the existing window only after manually editing the file exported from Articulate Rise before upload. Here is what we are currently doing:
- Unzip the generated export ZIP file.
- Open the cmi5.xml file in a text editor and change launchMethod=”OwnWindow” to launchMethod="AnyWindow"
- Save the file and create a new ZIP package.
- Upload the modified ZIP file to SCORM Cloud.
Is there a way to set launchMethod to AnyWindow in Articulate Rise so the exported file has launchMethod set to AnyWindow by default?
I have the same question but with Storyline. Is there a way to set "launchMethod" to "AnyWindow" prior to publishing? Our LMS provider (Sumtotal) suggests that updating the XML manifest file may break the course.
I just wanted to chime in and say "Thank you!" for this post! We were having this issue in Storyline and could not figure out why it was launching in a new window. This just recently started happening to use with cmi5 exports (had no issue previously). So, I'm not sure of the "why," but know that changing "Own" to "Any" fixed it for us.
This is no longer fixing the issue, i am still figuring this out. Could Support help us finding WHY?
