Hidden layer reappears on Resume

I'm using Storyline 360 and have added an Exit button to my course.

Clicking the button shows a confirmation layer, and if the learner confirms they want to exit, the triggers hide the current layer and then exit the course.

However, if the learner launches the course again and chooses Resume (rather than Restart) when prompted, straight away they see the confirmation layer asking them whether they want to exit, even though they've just relaunched the course.

Please see attached .story file.

I'd appreciate any insights into why the hidden layer reappears, and how can I stop that happening.

Many thanks!

    Hi Craig,

Your attachment did not go through.

In the slide properties, the slide is set to "Resume saved state", it remembers its previous state. Setting the slide to "Reset to initial state" will fix the issue. However, I'm not sure if "Resume saved state" is essential for your slide's functionality. I may look further.

Another alternative is to simply hide the "Confirm" layer when the timeline starts on the base layer. This would likely have the same effect as resetting the slide to its initial state while still allowing you to use "Resume saved state" if needed.

      That's a great idea – thanks!

Just not sure why, when the layer has been explicitly hidden before the course closes (in the uploaded file), that it decides to reappear by itself ☹️
