How do you format feedback for Multiple Response questions in a .txt file?

I hate to repeat something out here but this question was asked almost a year ago and the user is referred back to the article below.  That article doesn't answer this question.  You can't import the MR questions with feedback set up the way that you set it up for a MC question. However, I can't find anywhere that shows how it's supposed to be set up.

"Is there a way to program feedback for multiple response questions when importing them to Storyline from a text file. There's a great example for a multiple choice question here:

https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-storyline-2/articles/importing-questions-into-articulate-storyline-2#txt

Does anyone have examples for other types of questions?"

Thanks!!

  • Hi, Tona, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ✨

When importing Multiple Response questions, you can't have specific feedback for each answer. Your .txt file is correct, but you just have to remove the pipe (|) and the text that comes after it in each response.

I am attaching the edited version of your sample question.

Let me know if this works!

  • Hi Deborah!

The import functionality and allowing feedback is based on questions that allow scoring by choice, and multiple response is not one of those question types as you can see here.

The default feedback by question in your course would fall into place for these questions.

  • Unfortunately, this is not working for me. I have configured my multiple response questions exactly as they appear in the "mrexample.txt" above and I'm getting a question format error. I've attached a shot of the message I'm receiving.

Any idea why this may be happening?

      Hi Tona!

I'm happy to help! Since the message is saying the questions aren't correctly formatted, it would be helpful to see the .txt file you've imported. Would you mind sharing that with us?
