How many conditions can be added to the trigger?

Hi everybody,

I created a crossword question.
With the request for learners to fill in each text box, I used a trigger to display the correct/incorrect layer, but it didn't work. I checked very carefully and found that if there are only 12 conditions (12 text entries), the question works fine, but my slide has up to 55 text entries. Not sure if there are any conditions or problems?

The trigger simply shows the layer when the text entries are filled in with the correct characters.
I cannot upload files because this is a confidential project.
Thank you!

Hello MC as per my knowledge there isn't a limit for the conditions that can be added to a trigger in Storyline. All you need to consider is the order of the triggers.

Make sure that your triggers are set up in the right order and try again to if that works.

I suggest you to remove all the other slides except the slide that you're facing issue with and place a dummy text on the slide. Then attach the file here so that either me or someone can take a look and provide you with a possible workaround.

  • Thank you, I checked the trigger positions, it's fine, because there are only 2 trigger show layers. I have attached the question file, with the answer in the second slide. You need to capitalize the words you fill in if you check it. Thanks again!

Hello MC, Thank you for sharing the file!!

Here is the working file and as I said your triggers were not set accurately when user clicks the "Verify Answers" button. So I renamed all the text entries and now it works as intended.

Please review and let me know if you need any further assistance!!

  • Save a lot of time and frustration, and use a Crossword Creator. There are free ones out there. Eclipse Crossword, to mention one that I have used, creates an html version that you can put in SL, and it works pretty well.

All you have to do is enter the clues and answers, and you can even import those from a text file.
