How to prevent video dragging until after completion?

Hello! I thought this was simple but now I'm really confused.

I have a video that learners are required to watch once through and so, using the player control seekbar, I have selected "allow drag after completion." Well, I'm testing this video and there is no dragging the first time through, great, but when I replay the course, there's no drag even after video completion!

I tried swapping the player controls for the video controls, but there is no restriction on the video controls to prevent drag until after video completion!

Please tell my I am simply missing an option somewhere, I need to get this out ASAP.

Thank you!

  • I think it's best to use the video controls.

To prevent the user from dragging to the end, cover the controls with a filled shape. The solid fill could either have no transparency, partially transparency, or 100% transparency, depending on how you want it to look and how it impacts the bottom of the video.

To allow the user to drag the video control after they've watched the video, add a trigger that changes the state of the shape to Hidden when the media (aka the video) completes.

  • Great, thank you! I also got a hold of a coworker and she added that I should have the slide "resume saved state" so the shape doesn't reappear upon a new viewing.
