How To Setup Articulate 360 and Rise 360 with Wordpress

Hi all,

We're just about to turn our classroom CPD courses into e-learning course offerings and to do that we need to move our current online learning setup.

For the last 6 months, the team have been researching (here and everywhere they can find online) all the infrastructure tools that we think that we need to get setup before creating the courses.

It'd be great to understand (from all you experts!) if we are missing anything, or an easier/better way to do it. Some of the threads we found are older than 3 years.

This is what we're thinking:

Authoring Tool - Rise360 (with added Storyline elements included)
Wordpress - Website (move to our current website, than a subdomain online platform that we're using ATM)
LMS - Learndash
Email Integration - Mailchimp
Divi LearnDash Kit - Website Theme for Learndash
LearnDash Mailchimp Integration

Do we need to setup a LRS at this point - like Tincanny as well? or can this be added later?

Is there any other plugin, integration, that you think that we're missing?

We're going to setup the infrastructure with a test course, to check if this works, where we've hopefully got it nailed! Then we can move onto creating the CPD courses knowing the setup works!

Any help, support, guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi Suzanne Young,

You're almost there to complete your setup.

LearnDash or WordPress doesn't allow you to upload and play Rise content out-of-the-box. You need an addon plugin to manage this upload, launch & tracking part for Rise 360 content.

There are very few options available for this task, If you do not want to track then you can do it manually without any plugin. It completely depends on how you want things to work. I'm sure a plugin can save you a ton of time.

Do you want to track quiz answers and rise content completion?

    Then you need:

    • SCORM, xAPI, or cmi5 package
    • GrassBlade xAPI Companion plugin for uploading and playing content on any page.
    • GrassBlade Cloud LRS for saving tracking data.

I'm recommending you GrassBlade LRS and GrassBlade xAPI Companion because both have tight integration with LearnDash LMS.

It means your LearnDash lessons can be automatically marked complete when the user completed the added rise content. There are many features like this you might like.

    Do not want to track?

    Then you need:

    • HTML5 (WEB) or SCORM package [resume feature works with SCORM content]
    • GrassBlade xAPI Companion plugin for uploading and playing content on any page.

You can try this setup on this demo site. [https://demo.nextsoftwaresolutions.com/] It has GrassBlade xAPI Companion and LearnDash LMS plugin installed and it is connected to GrassBlade Cloud LRS.

I hope this helps you in making a good choice.
