Thanks for reaching out regarding this issue with your project! You're right; the image should display as shown in the timeline.
It would be helpful to see the Storyline file to understand why the image loads slowly. Do you mind attaching your project to this discussion or privately in a support case? We'll delete it when we're done testing!
