Image quality when pasting Powerpoint drawing into Storyline 3
Thanks for that suggestion, those links were helpful.
I’d welcome help with two problems when importing drawings from Powerpoint to Storyline 3. By way of background, this is an engineering training course with lots of circuit diagrams and drawing elements. This training will be used mainly in desktop environment, never in a smart phone.
The first problem is that the imported drawings have many element misalignments and re-sizings that take lots of time to fix. My drawings typically have nested groups, so I’ve tried fully ungrouping and then grouping (or leaving ungrouped), and I still have this issue. I’ve found it's much less time consuming to copy the drawing in PPT and paste it into a SL slide. I know this makes updating more time consuming, as I’ll need to make the updates in PPT and repeat the copy and paste. I'm disappointed in the PPT import features. Suggestions welcome!
The second problem is that the imported drawings are slightly fuzzy. I took a couple of steps to make them sharper. I’ll increase my 16:9 slide size from the default 960x540 to 1,100x619 or 1280x720. Also, if any scaling is needed, I do the scaling in PPT so that I don’t need to scale it in SL. But there’s still some loss of crispness in the drawings.
And I have a somewhat related question. There's the Player choice to expand the slide to fit the browser or display at optimum size. Is it possible to leave that choice to the learner? For example, if they have a huge, high-res monitor it would be annoying to have the content scrunched into a fraction of the screen area.
Thanks,
Paul
