Is there any way to batch import audio files in Storyline?
I want to batch import audio files in Storyline, similar to how I do it in Presenter. Is this possible? If not, is it an upcoming feature?
thanks,
Elizabeth

Hi David! Thank you for your response!
With the Presenter Import Audio feature we are able to ctrl A all the slides in Import Audio > ctrl A all our audio files that are numbered according to the slide > click open > click OK > and all our audio files are aligned to the correct slide in a matter of minutes. Versus if we just imported audio into PowerPoint we'd still have to click about 6 times to get one audio file into a slide.
I tried dragging and dropping the audio file to the Storyline slide from my desktop (Dell) and couldn't get it to work but I'll try again.
Is the Presenter import audio batch feature being considered for Storyline at all? We have a lot of requests for non-AI voices and it would save a lot of time.

Hi LorenHallmark-b,
Happy to chime in here! It’s really helpful to see how you’re using the Presenter workflow. I can see why having audio automatically line up with slides would make such a big difference, especially with larger projects and human voiceovers.
Right now in Storyline, you can bring in multiple audio files through the Media Library or import a PowerPoint with audio already added, but there isn’t a way to automatically match a batch of audio files to slides in one go like Presenter does.
I’ll share this with our product team so they can see how this would help streamline your workflow. Thanks for taking the time to lay it out so clearly.

Hi Eric,
Thanks for your response! I was able to get the drag‑and‑drop workflow to work, and it definitely reduces the amount of clicking. That said, importing all audio files into the media library still ends up being roughly the same number of clicks as navigating to "Audio from File".
Our biggest challenge with narration is that we’re required to provide an exported set of all audio files, labeled by slide number. When we created TTS directly in Storyline, we had to export each MP3 one at a time, manually name it by the corresponding slide number, and save it locally—which was extremely time‑consuming.
We recently purchased an AI TTS tool that batch‑exports audio based on the script in the Notes section of a PowerPoint, with files already labeled to each slide. That’s where we’re seeing significant time savings, especially when batch‑importing those files into Presenter.
If Articulate AI offered a way to batch export audio files with filenames that include the slide number, it would be a game‑changer for our team. Currently, exporting all audio from Storyline doesn’t preserve that context, so we’d have to listen to each file to determine which slide it belongs to.
I wanted to share more detail about our workflow and what would solve a major time sink for us. A true batch import and/or export option for audio—especially with slide‑based labeling—seems like it would benefit many teams who’ve raised this request in this thread.

Is there still no batch import option after 12 years of requesting it? Batch importing audio in Presenter and then importing into Storyline is our workaround to save time but now that Presenter is being phased out, what should we do? We have customers who want human voiceovers and it's very tedious to add each audio file into each slide.
Hi LorenHallmark-b You have some new options for quickly getting audio into Storyline. My favorite is dragging and dropping audio from either Explorer for Finder (I use Parallels on my Mac) and dragging right to the slide.
The other option is to use Media Library and batch import all audio files at once and insert as needed.
But I get what you're asking for with the way importing Presenter files automatically adds audio to each slide. But you're in luck if that's your preferred workflow:
Import your PowerPoint file directly into Storyline. Any PPT slide that has audio will carry over into Storyline and get automatically added to each slide. You no longer have to use Presenter to bring in your source PowerPoint slides with audio or video.

For anyone on this tread in the 2020s, you can go to media library, click on 'Video' and then click 'import' in the upper right. Select 'video from file' and you can select multiple videos and import them all at once. You still need to manually place them in the course, but this might save a little time.
Would really like to see this same functionality available when adding videos directly to a slide, and if it exists already for the media library, I don't see why it doesn't work for individual slides. - SherriFricker-3Community Member
So I found a way to upload multiple audio files to the media library. I don't need the slides auto-generated, so this works for me.
Hi there, Sherri. Thanks for checking in!
While you can upload multiple audio files at once to an individual slide, Storyline won't automatically create a new slide for each file at this time.
I'll share your vote with the team and if we add this functionality in a future update, we promise to update this discussion. Here's an inside look at how we work to prioritize feature requests!

We are working on a project that requires multiple audio files to be uploaded. Is there an update on this feature?
Hi Cody,
We don't have a feature that will allow you to insert multiple audio files at once and have those automatically split into new individual slides.
You can insert multiple audio files at once on to one slide - go to Insert > Audio > Select multiple clips/files > Click OK. They'll all be added to one particular slide and then you could work with those inside Storyline.

I'm assuming there's still no batch import?
Just thought I'd check before spending a shipload of time and discovering it wasn't necessary. I have 40-something video files that I was hoping I could somehow insert straight from the Media Library onto individual new slides. i.e. That Storyline 360 would somehow auto-create a new slide for each video file rather than need me to spend the time creating the blank slides and adding each. I've searched and concluded that this feature probably doesn't exist, so I've added the Quick Access Insert Video workaround, but thought I might as well ask.Cheers

We really wish to have this feature on as soon as possible, should be a priority on your roadmap!

Considering this thread was created over 4 years ago, it's clearly not a priority. I stopped hoping for it ages ago and have just dealt with the inconvenience of doing it the tedious slide by slide way. It's sad that they regressed in features in this manner, but who knows, maybe one day they'll bring it back.

It's utterly scary that a feature considerable so "standard" and useful, that can really save a lot of time, is already been waiting 4 year to be developed.

Tested at SL2
1) Rename "story" to "zip"
2) open folder MEDIA from Explorer on Win
3) change audio file to new with the same name
the end
