Issue with questions being linked to the wrong result slide
Hi KellyAuner !
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, the issue does persist, even after I manually reassign and carefully check each question. That’s actually the core reason for my ticket: despite assigning question slides to the appropriate result slides, some of them keep moving on their own, including those that are positioned below the overall score, as shown in my screenshot.
Also, this behavior is not limited to a single course. It occurs across all my Storyline modules.
Regarding file sharing, I won’t be able to provide the source file due to confidentiality and intellectual property constraints.
Let me know if you need any additional details to help investigate further.
Thanks ! 🙂
Hey SafeTeamAcademy,
Glad to see Kelly has been helping you.
I've seen cases where changes to Result Slides (such as duplication or reuse across projects) can affect how Question Slides remain associated and may require reassignment. Have those steps been involved in your workflow, or does the same behavior occur even when building new Question/Results Slides from scratch?
Also, unexpected behavior like this can sometimes occur when authoring directly off a network drive. Can you confirm that the affected .story file is stored on your local hard drive while making these edits?
I completely understand the confidentiality and privacy concerns over sharing the .story file itself. However, without seeing and testing the file, it's tricky to confirm the source of the issue. Just a quick note that anything you share with our team in a case is kept confidential. We're also happy to sign an NDA upon request!

Hello StevenBenassi,
Thanks for your message.
Yes, those steps are part of our workflow (duplication/reuse of Result Slides across projects).
However, we are experiencing the exact same issue even when working from a file stored locally on the hard drive, so it doesn’t seem related to a network drive.
Let me know if you’d like us to run any additional checks on our side.
Thanks!

Hi SafeTeamAcademy,
Thanks for the additional detail, that’s helpful context to have.
I see Steven has already been digging into some key areas with you, especially around result slide reuse and working locally. That’s exactly where we’d typically start with this kind of behavior.
One thing that would really help narrow this down further: do you see the same issue when building a project completely from scratch, without duplicating or reusing any result slides? That can help isolate whether the behavior is tied to reuse workflows or something else in the project setup.
Since you’re experiencing this across multiple courses, the most reliable way for us to pinpoint what’s happening would be to review a Storyline file directly. I understand your concerns around confidentiality.
If you’re open to it, you can connect with our Support Engineers by opening a support case and sharing your Storyline file for testing. If an NDA is needed, our team can help facilitate that as part of the case process.
