Issue with text variables!!!
Hi,
I have the latest update to Storyline 360 and have found an issue of published files whenever a text variable reference is used.
For some reason, the formatting in a text box is off when I insert the text reference variable into it. I have attached two screenshots of the text box in a published view - not preview mode.
One screenshot has the text box with the first name text variable in it and the second screenshot has the same text box but without the text variable in it.
You will see the alignment is off. This is just one example. Don't be concerned with the grey bars that show up in one of the screenshots (I have been told this a preview mode bug that is still being fixed - I have other threads about this).
I had another slide that had the same text variable and bullet points and in published view, they were all over the place. As soon as I took the text variable away, the bullet points were aligned correctly.
I have used this variable multiple times with no issues at all. Is this a bug for 360?

No worries Matt - thanks for the image. I'll share with our team that you're also seeing this in Flash only. Can you let me know what browser it was?

Screenshot was in Chrome but it behaves the same in Firefox and Edge. All were fully patched, latest versions.
Thanks, Matt. I'll add that information to our report.
Great news! We just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes that you'll see in the release notes here.
The item you'll be interested in is:
Text with variable references would shrink in HTML5 output.
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline 360. Details here.

Sorry to reopen this thread, but has anyone noticed an issue with the colour of a text box with referenced variables within it.
We've added commonly used javascript code to print the slide, and when the print dialogue box appears (showing a preview of what will be printed) text boxes with a reference variable are not displayed in the correct colour. E.g. white is showing as grey, red turns slightly orange, etc. Text boxes with the same text, but no reference, print fine.
There is no issue with the display on screen, only when printed. Any ideas?
Oh no Gavin.
I have not seen a similar issue reported regarding the color being incorrect during printing.
Would you be able to share your .story file for us to take a look?
Welcome to E-Learning Heroes by the way :)

Thanks Leslie. Just in case anyone else encounters the same issue, with the help of Articulate Support I discovered that selecting ''background graphics' in Google Chrome's print dialogue box (under '+ More Settings') resolved this. I'm not sure if there is a similar cure for other browsers.
Thanks for the update, Gavin!

Hey guys! We're running on the latest version of SL 360, and have issues with courses not showing text boxes that have variables referenced in them. This seems to be a setting in the browser because it shows up in IE, and not in Chrome for some users, while others are fine. And advice on what these browser settings should be would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, Stephanie. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
Do you know what version of Chrome the affected learners are using to view the content? Also, are you able to reproduce this problem in Chrome on your end as well?
Happy to dig in with you!

Hello, I am having several alignment issues when calling a variable. Sometimes, the text that the variable calls goes off the page. Other times, it doesn't. Also, the bullet points that I am using are randomly wonky and unaligned. Attached is an example of the text going off the page, the references I am using, and the bullet point alignment. I am using Storyline 360.

Hi Jacqueline, were you able to get this issue fixed? I am running into a text variable alignment issue as well and am curious to know how to fix it.

Hi Cassidy,
I was not able to get any issues resolved. I found more than 15 bugs in the software during the first few months of using it, which prevented me from achieving any of the functionality that I wanted. I have completely given up on Storyline and will never use it again.
