lack of Rise innovation
Depending on circumstances, it may be difficult or impossible to switch to another system no matter what the actual reason is.
We have a large collection of online courses built using Rise and Storyline.
It is not feasible for us to convert all these courses to a different platform. So even if we decide to use another online course development platform sometime in the future, we will always need to have one or two Articulate seats just to maintain. Using more than one development system has it's own set of problems.
Until a tool (like Mindsmith) works out a way to import SCORM files from Storyline and convert it into their format...
Don't think this is possible at present based on my testing, but it's something they want to achieve.

I think it's everything else aside from the SCORM files that Mindsmith would have trouble importing. The "SCORM" parts of published Storyline output are a tiny fraction of all the content that's created, simply describing how the file will communicate with an LMS. What Mindsmith would need to figure out is how to reverse-engineer all of the published .js, .css, and .html files into their editor.

I will cede to your technical knowledge, but it's something they've got in Beta-testing at the moment and they are intending to roll out at some point. Their scope is to import everything (relevant) into their tool so you could then edit it from there, not just the SCORM / communication part.

I can't say I know much about Mindsmith so I'll defer to you on that. That sounds pretty groundbreaking though, facilitating import from a competitor. Interesting times!
