LEADERBOARD x DASHBOARD
We're trying to create a leaderboard for the Storyline Module we created which is gamified. It has the usual content, the discussion part, and then the graded quiz part - we were hoping to get insights and data from atleast the quiz (number of tries, scores, errors, etc..), now when we try to get it from our LMS - it only shows high level overview of the "points" it doesn't even extract the points from the specific smartcard/module itself - which leads me to my question, when it comes to creating or building a leaderboard for Storyline created modules, is it purely dependent to the LMS where you uploaded it? (my gut tells me yes, because that's where they take it, thus the LMS gets the input and output - but by any chance is there another way to get it from Storyline/Articulate 360 platform?)
Below is the only data we can get from our LMS (which is Edcast)
Hi parca in a SCORM module (1.2/2004) a user can only access their own data. Therefore you would not be able to create a leader board to bring in scores from several different users in a SCORM module. This would require a custom API to be used to request the data from the LMS (not using the SCORM API).
I think using xAPI, it is possible to bring in data from other users into something like a leader board. I haven't worked with xAPI for years now, but pretty sure I used it for something like that as it was one of the major differences between SCORM and xAPI.
If you'd like to know the (SCORM) data that can be accessed and reported in Edcast I'd highly recommend contacting your LMS vendor. They may also be able to let you know if they have any APIs available that would allow you to pull in data to create a leader board.

Got it Sam! That makes sense, and we'll do that - we'll get in touch with our LMS admin. Thank you!
