Long load times on 'Retry'

We're seeing a ~6-10 minute load time when using the 'Retry' button on one of our exams. Students are able to complete the test without issue, but it hangs up for multiple minutes when they click the 'Retry' button from the results page.

We've tested a few options, but this appears to be related to the number of 'Draw From Question Bank' slides in the test- due to branching pathways, we have ~200 in total.

Is there anything we can do to reduce the load time without changing the number of DFQBs? Test is meant to be comprehensive and they're the best way that we've found to randomize multi-step questions.

  • Hi Joe,

    Happy to help!

Is your course hosted on an LMS by any chance? If it is, try testing the behavior in SCORM Cloud to see if you notice a reduction in the loading times of your question banks. If your course is more responsive in SCORM Cloud, reach out to your LMS support team so they can investigate the behavior. You can also test your course in Review 360, which simulates a web server environment. Both of these tests will help isolate if the issue is isolated to the hosting environment you are using.

If the loading times are consistent across different platforms, please open a case with our support team here so we can take a look at your project file.
