Media Library not opening
When I try to open the Media Library from the View menu, or when I right click on the image/video, nothing happens and then I get an error report popup. I have only ONE file that I'm having this issue with. Every other Storyline file I have will open it up just fine. Any advice?!

I deleted all the Slides and most of the extra Master Slides that I did not specifically create and the Media Library began working again. So apparently one or more of the media elements on those screens had become corrupted. When I have a couple of hours I am going to be more systematic in my deletion and try to locate the offending content.

There was a corrupt graphic in one of the sample interactions another employee had included in the template file.

Is there going to be a fix for this issue? Most people have multiple monitors especially if programming storyline

Hi Max,
Thanks for checking in on this. Our developers are still tracking this. If you're willing to share a recording of what you're experiencing, I'd like to add it to the report. You can submit that to our team in a support case!

I am having the exact same issues and like Randall,
- I have the latest install of Storyline 360.
- Scaling is set to 100% (the Windows recommendation)
- Running 2 monitors plus the laptop (one monitor is set to duplicate and one set to extend)
- Duplicate Mode ALSO causes the Media Library to fail to open.
- This does NOT happen with all my files however. Only ONE file right now.
I have saved as different file, imported into a new project, and several other options suggested online to fix it, but it appears nothing can fix the issue for this ONE project.
Did anyone find a solution??
Hello AngelaDestro-a9,
Thanks for sharing what you’ve tried so far. I’ve opened a support case on your behalf so we can take a closer look at your project file. We’ll continue the conversation over in your case, so everything is in one spot.

Hello,
I sent a reply in the support case, but am duplicating my response here for the benefit of others with this issue.
After much trial and error, I was eventually able to fix the problem. Apparently, a SINGLE question slide was corrupted. I had tried many methods found above and elsewhere online (rolling back my Storyline version, saving with a new name, importing the entire file into a new Storyline project, etc.), but the problem persisted. I then had the idea to start with a blank file in which I established that the media library was working, and then I would copy and paste one scene at a time (and if need be, one slide at a time) to see when Media Library stopped working. When I pasted the scene with the question slide, the Media Library stopped responding. When I removed that scene, it started working again. Since the question slide was the only one that was significantly different, it was the first one I removed. “Presto!” Media Library worked again. I went back to my original file and removed that slide and “Presto!” Media library began working in that file too.
Maybe others can use the method I used to find a corrupted slide.
Good luck everyone!

Angela, The issue in my case was a single corrupted graphic in the media library for one file.
- Create a blank .story file with the same dimensions as your problem file.
- Systematically copy one page at a time from the problem file into the blank file.
- Try to open the media Library after each new page is added.
- When it no longer works then you will know which page has the corrupted media on it
