Need Help Gaining Ownership of a Storyline360 Course
Before my team member left the company, he created and translated a course in Storyline360. As his manager, I don’t have access to the course file in Storyline—I only have access to his courses in Rise 360. I do have the Review 360 link and the option to download the course package.
My question is: How can I gain ownership of this course or upload it into Rise 360 so I can manage and edit it moving forward?
Thanks in advance for any guidance!

To edit the Storyline 360 course, you need the original .story file.

JenniferAbouzei: You said that in Review 360, you have "the option to download the course package."
Does that mean you have access to the Current Version drop down for the course?
If the "Download project file" option is available, that means the .story file is backed up online and you can download it.
- In essence, a .story file is a zipped file with a special extension. So if the downloaded file has a .zip extension, try changing that to .story. Then anyone with Storyline installed should be able to open and edit it.
If the file can't be downloaded from Review 360, then check with your IT staff to see if they can access the ex-employee's laptop and/or intranet-storage location to search for the file. Otherwise, you won't be able to edit or republish the course.
And to prevent issues in the future, definitely set up a process for your team that ensures everyone backs up their .story files to a central location. That's also helpful if someone is out sick or on vacation.
