Need help with some triggers in a project
Hi there, so in this e-learning i'm creating. I have a slide where it gives you 3 options to choose from. Once you choose one of the options it goes into a new scene where it will play a video. Once that video is done it'll bring you back to the decision point with all the options, and the option that you have chosen will be disabled. For some reason Part 1 and Part 2 in the projects are working fine.
But for Part 3, Option 2 and 3 should be disabled after you have chosen them but they are only showing as selected after the video is done playing and it goes back to the decision point.
Can anyone help me and take a look at the triggers to see what i may be doing wrong? I've attached the file for reference.
Hi BrandonErlinger the first thing I've spotted is that on the Option 3 button on Slide 2.3 Decision point, is that you are using variable "Path2Viewed" to determine if it is disabled. This should be "Path3Viewed" I believe.
Also, just a friendly piece of advice. When providing your Storyline file, it's a good idea to strip it down to the slides that are the problem. Otherwise, it can be difficult looking at a project and trying to determine which slides the issue is referring to.
After updating that variable reference to Path3Viewed, everything seems to be ok.
When working with variables that are being used in a similar way. It can sometimes be useful to view the variables and how many times they are being used, as this can show a discrepancy. FYI: I'd removed the duplicate trigger on timeline start that was also setting the option buttons to disabled (it was only acting on option 1 and 3).
